A few years ago, DJ Mujava's slightly sinister beast of a track "Township Funk" found its way from South African taxi cabs to the internet and then Warp Records, who released the song on 12-inch. Since then, his output has been sporadic, but we're happy to see him (and more explicitly kwaito—SA house—producer, DJ Qness, who has some killer smooth shit on his MySpace) take the cutting board to the drums and bass on MIA's "XXXO." The keys that sound like tiny sirens are the best part. Would love to hear Maya and then team up for real.
