On Tuesday, the very great Blonde Redhead will be playing their album in full at Tribeca’s 92Y. Just to be clear, they will be playing a CD copy of the album over the PA…But then they’ll also be performing! Their first NY show in more than a year! It’s an invitation only event, and we have two pairs of tickets to give away. Details are available here. “In Particular” and “Pink Love” are some of my favorites. I LOOOOVE Blonde Redhead!!!!! And have been listening to them since high school. I’ve written several articles about them, they’ve had an album title with my favorite number 23 that came out on my birthday 4/23 in 2007..LOVE THEM and would LOVE to see them!!!!!!!!!!!!

“23″ is my fave!
I remember the fall of 2006, it was my first time in NYC and I was some store following my sister around as she shopped for a hip dress of sorts. It was then, while I was sitting on some bench outside the ladies fitting room that I heard this incredible voice scream out over haunting music “Allow me to show you, the way which I adore you!!!!!!” And It was then that I knew I had karma in my bank account for assisting my sister in her shopping endeavor. Now this was the way before Shazam, and I had to know the name of the song, so I walked up to the clerk and begged her to find out the name of the song. She, or course, did not know, and simply said sorry, when this incredibly hot girl walked up behind me and said its called “Equus” and its by Blonde Redhead. And although the girl was so pretty, the song was even more so, that all i could think about was going home and downloading it and playing it over and over again. That was my initial love affair with this band and since then I can say it is honestly one of my favorite bands of alllllll time. So yeah, I def try to be the kind of guy that does as much good as I can, and winning tickets to see this band play a smaller show would bring me soooooooo much joy, that I dunno, its sort of like one of those things that can inspire someone. Anyways, hope I have a struggling chance to see this band play and thanks for offering this contest to your avid website followers.
Pink Love!!!! It touches a soft spot
I love everything they’ve done and it’s especially tough since they almost sound like a new band in more recent albums. For old Blonde Redhead: I’m Taking Out My Eurotrash. For new: Spring and By Summer Fall.
