Massive Attack playing the Beacon Theatre in NYC is something akin to the Queen having an official reception at Pastis—both places seem impossibly intimate for visits from such iconic Brits. But the former is actually happening, and we are giving away a pair of tickets to see the awesome mood-masters play with fellow electronic heavyweights Thievery Corporation on October 21. To enter, elaborate on your favorite Massive Attack album from their extensive catalog in the comments below, and if you have an iPhone or Android, go download our new mobile app. Be sure to leave your real email address so we can contact you if you’ve won. For those who are p-noid about the show selling out, we’re offering a special ticket pre-sale starting tomorrow, August 12, from 10AM to 11PM EST. Simply go to the Beacon’s website and enter the passcode FADER. Good luck to all! Contest is closed. Thanks for entering!

Mezzanine, hands down best album to have epic sex to :)
Listening to Mezzanine has a narcotic effect
Mezzanine still sends goosebumps down my back on hot Cali days driving in my car with no AC.
Fav. massive attack album has got to be protection from ’94… Karmacoma & weather storm!
btw, sweet interface on the fader droid app!
Mezzanine is up there too…i liked that track w/ the cure
I remember chilling with the girl I was in love with at the time(who was none the wiser) and listening to the karmacoma ep way backwhen. Good times.
I first heard of Massive Attack when I was 16 through Mezzanine when it was released. I still listen to “Exchange” while working. I’m so happy they still come out with records and heligoland has Damon Albarn again.
P.S. Fader best app ever. I’m a big fan of the photos. Nocito, Nahr, Van Agtmael… One of Van Agtmael’s photos is my homescreen
When will thee winner be revealed?!!!!!??! Otherwise I will buy my tix!
The most indulgent/melodramatic break up i have endured involved my soon to be ex girlfriend entering my room, de-tuning my guitar, returning my sweaters, letting me see that she was keeping my best/favorite/most worn in button down and leaving the room. I had nothing else to do but put on Safe From Harm.

I had nothing else to do but put on Blue Lines and resist looking back to see if she was looking back at me to see me looking back at her.
Blue Lines was by far their best classic. Unfinished Sympathy reminds me of driving to Los Angeles at 11:30pm to meet up with friends until 4 or 5am. We’d play that CD on the way up and back because there was no other music that came close to epitomizing the freedom of being single, young and unafraid. We felt Safe From Harm because We were Thankful for What We Got, feeling like a Five Man Army except there was just two of us, with One Love, Daydreaming Lately while Hymming of the Big Wheel making sure we were driving straight into the evening Blue Lines. Ahhh! Bliss!!!
tix wanted
What I like best about Massive was the B side tracks or the remix singles that they put out from time to time. I recall finding a rare remix by the artist while on a scavenger hunt in the streets of London from the album Teardrop. My favorite track to this date by Massive Attack has to be Teardrop (Mad Professor Mazaruni Instrumental Mix).
I really hope you pick me to win the tix!
Cheers.
Definitely Mezzanine. Just inspirational from start to finish.
Mezzanine because I would put that album on my stereo and blast it everyday after school for a whole semester!!
Mezzanine, hands down. I was 16 in 1998 when I first heard ‘Teardrop’ and it was the soundtrack of that summer. I lived near Massive Attack’s hometown of Bristol in England at the time and trip hop was taking off. I feel lucky to have loved it back then, and even luckier that they’re coming to NY now that I live here!
Mezzanine has won my soul over–every time I hear it, I can’t get enough—esp. Teardrop.
Finding the right items at a scavenger hunt can be tricky, but I have always had some great fun while doing them
Mezzanine is definitely the better balance between primal and transcendental music combined into one beautiful cd.
Mezzanine far away my favorite !
Mezzanine is fantastic. What an awesome experience to listen to this beautiful music.
