Premiere: Miss Banks, “L8R” MP3

August 12, 2010

Azealia Banks has got a mouth on her. One of Harlem's best next hopes for rap greatness since Dipset got so fickle, the chick whose career kicked off a few years ago with "Seventeen" ('cause that was her age) is upgrading her xxx-factor and laser-sharpening her lyrics. Not that she ever wasn't nasty (whether on the mic or in her verses), but it's a testament to her talent that she can say lines like I keep it tighter than a gridlock/ open your face and let a bitch squat, and you notice the precision of her syntax before anything else. On a minimal but effective Machinedrum beat, her cadences cut like knives.
