Henrik Vibskov S/S 2011 Runway

August 18, 2010

For Spring 2011, Henrik Vibskov envisioned 1930s sunbathers teleported to a tanning booth, pairing traditional Japanese sleepwear and modest beach bum shapes with UV-blocking goggles and bonnets. Presented on a makeshift dock propped with tiny toy boats during Copenhagen Fashion Week, the pieces are traditionally both tailored and loose, emphasizing comfy but artful draping in kimono-shaped jackets and his signature oversized suits. Though he toned down his installation-art inclinations for this collection—barring a leopard trouser with a multicolored pony mane lining the crease—Vibskov's once again crafted a mini-fantasia and a line we want to live in.
