The Wrens are one of those bands that attained internet-era indie mythology status for being somewhat awesome and so insanely not prolific that if you told us they broke up we'd be like, YEAH DUDE FOREVER AGO DUH, but hopefully in a nicer way because you know. But they're back, or maybe they never left and were just chilling and playing in some living room somewhere. "Crescent" is a demo, or at least a rough version, as you can tell by the tape hiss floating around in the background. The final version is going to show up on a New Orleans benefit called Dear New Orleans and then later on their followup to their last record, The Meadowlands which—holy shit—came out in 2003.
