Night Slugs label heads L-Vis 1990 and Bok Bok are making some of the most creative dance music in London right now, and you already know how we feel about Mishka‘s Fall 2010 collection, so their collaboration celebrating each other feels like something we could have invented in our minds. This mix is a great cross-section of Night Slugs’ specialty jams—cracked-out garage and funky, mega-deep house and dubstep, weird time signatures and humanesque samples, plus one moment where it sounds like they are playing tug-of-war with a ’90s house diva using a musical saw. This is long weekend survival music. Related: if you’re in New York next week, don’t miss DJ Bootyclap‘s set at Nextah. We have a feeling it will be a lot like this mixtape.
