New York Fashion Week: George McCracken, Spring 2011

September 17, 2010

Torrential downpours did not stop George McCracken's Spring 2011 presentation at the Thompson L.E.S. on Thursday. The models acted like decorative borders around the pool, and three guys stood floating on top of the water on mini-barges, helpless to the damning storm that was about to hit. That didn't worry the McCracken team too much though. They ever so casually offered the idle models wood planks to guide them from the water back onto safe dry land. The storm made things better, in the end: As the models were relocated to the bar, everyone could see the collection up close, noting McCracken's comfortable fit for each piece. Relaxed separates like denim jackets were paired with trousers and cargo pants, button-ups and accented sweaters. Four seasons in, it seems that George McCracken is crystal clear about the chill vibes of who he is dressing and what they expect from him. More looks after the jump.
