Your Youth's original "Diamond" is Cali beach music in the old sense, as in "big joyous power chords/surf jams"—unapologetic pop punk that screams for a drop-top Jeep and a sun-kissed boyfriend. The Sunday Afternoon remix, though, is the chill-out flip to that coin—feel-good vibes are still at a maximum, but fully weeded in a hammock and maybe lazily making out with said sun-kissed boyfriend.
