ACNE Combines Two Great Loves

Picture 1

Like a city torn between two lovers, London recently hosted Fashion and Interior Design weeks at once. But design certainly doesn’t have to be so split down the middle. ACNE‘s new furniture line, a collaboration with Liberty of London, arrived as well, with an event that seemed a realization of both interests. Staying true to their heritage of strong craftsmanship, ACNE founder Jonny Johansson cites legendary Swedish designer Carl Malmsten and his Nya Berlin Sofa as the inspiration for the brand’s first foray into interior design. The range of sofas boasts sensual lines and asymmetrical forms—plus a floral upholstery that isn’t out of place on a pair of pants or jacket, but looks just as great as a living room seating arrangement.
