Premiere: Holy Sons, “Slow Days” MP3

September 27, 2010

Holy Sons' new album is called Survivalist Tales!, but it's more than the Into the Wild/Grizzly Adams nature of the cover. On the first single, "Slow Days," singer Emil Amos coos longingly against a backdrop of dissonantly depressed guitars, like it's the last song he's ever gonna write—or at least he's singing with the finality of a dude who can't stop thinking about the loss of something he's held very dear. On the other hand, the lyric When you throw the clock away/It just comes back again sounds quite like a scarier episode of the Twilight Zone, like the clock that keeps returning is some kind of curse. It could go either way... maybe he means both. Survivalist is out October 12. Tour starts tonight in Chicago, dates and track after the jump.
