Plastic Caramelo, “Shake That Chocolate” MP3

September 28, 2010

Brooklyn-via-Colombia quartet Plastic Caramelo play what they call "glampeta"—a glammy, New York take on electro champeta, the digital version of Cartagena's traditional afro-caribbean dance music. Shit is ground zero diaspora on that global bass tip, which in layman's terms almost unilaterally translates to AWESOME PARTY TRACK. "Shake that Chocolate" is a minimal, two-stepping saltshaker beefed up by car sirens and monkey coos and sweet vocals that beseech you to do nothing but have a good time. You won't find us arguing.
