Stream: Lil Scrappy, “Look At Me” MP3

Several things are remarkable about this track but we'll start with the visuals: cover art by Pen & Pixel!! Blingee (and MIA) should totally be paying Pen & Pixel royalties. Actually the entire world should, too, because they were brilliant enough to give us this. So Brooklyn producer Dre Skull, he of the Vybz Kartel single and other releases, flew down South to record Scrappy in an Atlanta studio, where the latter apparently wrote his verses direct from brain to mic in ProTools before they fooled around with them for the resultant "Look At Me." It's got the typical Scrappy swagbuster vibes, but Dre's staunchly grave, minimal string stabs give it a little oomph for its money. You can picture them marching down a sidewalk to it like a flossy army, heads held high, wrists gleaming—they're kings!
