Listening to Shackleton is an exercise in patience in the best way possible. Hand drums ride out for minutes at a time, a strange half-there sound will drop in for a second, only to never be seen again. It's dance music that exists in wisps, and when it's focused it is awesome. "International Fires" comes from Shackleton's Fabric mix, which is one of those tricky releases that actually exists as a whole album, recontextualizing old tracks and throwing some new ones into the pot as well. The mix comes out next week, and if you're a fan of fluttering drums and dark ambiance, it'll be your winter jam.
