Shopped and Scrooged #4: Libra Oil

December 02, 2010

Join us as we count down to Winter Gift Day (December 25) with our picks for the best presents to bestow on friends and family and that dude you have to buy something for in the office.

What it is. Libra Oil.

What is it? Libra Oil is a mix of rosemary, lavender and frankincense meant to promote qualities in the self that resemble the Zodiac sign Libra. Tonight is the second night of Hanukkah, a holiday dedicated to oils of a different sort, a celebration of the miraculous power of a container of olive oil that kept the Jews' lights burning for eight days and allowed them to keep the Temple consecrated and lit. Libra Oil will not light any flames. In fact, quite the opposite. Libra oil will encourage good communication, grace, and balance, qualities that will keep you calm and that you'll need to survive family holiday parties and hours of your uncle screaming.

Who do you give it to? Your mom and Stevie Nicks.

Where to get it. Enchantments, New York's largest Witchcraft/Goddess supply store.
