Motion Family on a tear! In this short for B.O.B.'s "The Watchers", a song where he sounds vaguely like Cee Lo on "I'll Be Around" except way angrier, the Atlanta production house breaks from their heavy-glow HD first person confessional style for an approach that's both more and less ambitious, shooting B.O.B's profile against a google image barf of image analogues to the confidently sour-dieseled conspiracy theory lyrics. Before its over, we see crop circles, burning people, futurist renderings of Waterworld floating island cities, the Hubble telescope and scared teddy bears. The result is a cross between a Glenn Beck televised lesson, after school YouTube project, low-budget Carl Sagan and the addled flashback video System D-128 made for Michna's "Triple Dipped Chrome" After a whole summer enduring "Airplanes", we didn't think B.O.B. still mistrusted the universe enough to feel the pressure of our imminent end too hard. Now, we're all kinds of second-guessing this Tuesday morning. Is Pluto the most underdog object in our galaxy? Will we use Aztec floating garden technology to survive after the great floods? Is Grape Juice actually better for you than grape drink. Is there a bassoon on this instrumental? Don't know but think the takeaway here is definitely: "If you're good at something, make sure they pay you!"
