After Jamie XX posted his Boiler Room set on Ustream, we scrambled the internet in search of his pitch-defying Adele “Rolling in the Deep” remix. And we couldn’t find it. And then the video got taken down. But we weren’t too bummed because we’re industrious and somewhere around step 2 of this story we bootlegged it ourselves and have been blasting it in secret ever since. Now XL is releasing a white label 12-inch and it’ll be on iTunes proper in two weeks. While it was initially odd not hearing the interrupting MC shout out “too many man dem to mention,” we would easily rate this official release one Jamie XX on the scale of artists who constantly bring us joy.
