What was the casting call that went out for this video? We have a sneaking suspicion that the words "indie hot" and/or "American Apparel" appeared on it, in some way. Not that we're complaining! It's just, you know, that there's an aesthetic at work here, at least for the first steamy one-pieces-and-headbands minute or so. And then, well, it goes somewhere else—more than one place, actually: A bedroom, Egypt, the sky, the ocean. We don't know if we really "get it," but that's ok; the song itself is a sort of Destroyer-by-way-of-Alan-Parsons thing, all pillowy guitars and mournful sax, and it makes us look forward to Kaputt the album, out January 25th, more than a million sallow Silver Lake hotties ever could.
