Killer Mike on his Boots Riley here, talking about Oscar Grant, sexual health and the problem of non-violence over what we think is live instrumentation. Definitely a human-hurt drum but the piano may be android. Is it awful that we felt more moved by what Lil Wayne and Birdman did with the same base sample (Funkadelic's "You and Your Folks, Me and My Folks") on "Army Gunz"? It may only be a matter of timing— In Katrina's wake we were melted and hearing Wayne say that people were "scared of the southern part of America," and war felt like an answer was soothing, scary, true. We'll have all of PL3DGE in March, hopefully.
