The start-your-engines opening pan flutes are a light Enya breeze, maybe, a warm welcome. But that’s over quick, and then, those very first violins on the very first song “Painted Eyes” have more gay drama than Black Swan and so you know what you’re getting into right from Track 1. It’s Hercules & Love Affair‘s new album, hello, what else would you have expected? And it’s beautiful, heavy on that level, full of fuuuuuuunnnnnnn melodrama, you know? Because even though it’s tough being a diva, a life filled with innumerable emotional problems, all-night dances and backstabbers and bitches, could you live any other way?
