While all of Dam Mantle‘s music thus far follows an attractive template of miniature versions of songs cut up into tiny bits and then redistributed before all congealing together in some sort of weird collage catharsis, it’s “Movement” that he really hits his stride. Sounds like a Disney song—maybe something from Bambi for the first couple minutes and then that heavy chord comes in and it’s like everything he’s been hinting at in the previous couple minutes is finally laid bare. Dam Mantle’s First Wave is out March 8th on Wichita.
