There are a couple ways to look at this. Do we like Toro y Moi? Yes! Do we like Odd Future? Totally! Do we like them together? It works better than we expected, but we also have to ask why it exists. Not like, WHY DOES THIS IS EXIST BECAUSE IT IS TERRIBLE! Because it's not. More like, why?. Part of the appeal of Odd Future is that they came to the world a hermetically sealed crew that did everything themselves really, really well. What happens when that insular bubble bursts? It already has, and every move is under scrutiny. Not like this is gonna change Tyler and co. forever or even at all, and not like this is a particularly new concept in music, but it's worth thinking about. SPEAKING OF!
