'90s NYC hopeful turned inmate turned 21st century hopeful Mysonne gets his Scared Straight reality rap on with this recent Flex favorite. It's more than a little derivative of New York's more fruitful early years—loosely re-purposing its "no smilin'" refrain from G Rap's "Riker's Island" and swiping its beat from the Fat Boy's "Jailhouse Rap." But, unlike Markie Dee n 'em, Mysonne was never incarcerated for stealing pizza (a crime for which we may now be witnessing a long tail impact, Fat Boys favorite Sbarro's recently declared bankruptcy.)
