On May 1st, Stephen Farris is releasing a straight-up VHS tape, 60 minutes of hyper-manic cuts between destroyed exercise videos and waves crashing in reverse, visuals that crazily illustrate his sample-heavy productions. It's a ton to take in, but the videos are really beautiful and hugely ambitious, instantly separating themselves from the ever-growing YouTube ocean of throwback tape edits. The first clip is Cosmic Sound II's opening six minutes, and "Orange Mellow" below is the piece that immediately follows, collectively representing a massive amount of work, but mind-bogglingly only 1/6th of the whole project. You can order the tape now for just $12, or wait a week until he puts it all online.
