While his peers are still rapping about jets, Ohio rapper and recent Maybach Music signee Stalley extends the metaphor past the stratosphere in what seems like a loose nod to Eightball & MJG’s days of “Space Age Pimpin.” It’d be nice to imagine that PLUTO’s pioneering Pen N Pixel-ed) space rap cover art fit into Stalley’s equation as well, but that seems less likely. Whatever the case, “Chevys & Spaceships” is a nice take on the Curren$y school of slow burner blog rap, maximized with some uncharacteristically hard drum breaks.
