Video: Kilo Ali, “Facebook Friends”

June 02, 2011

Sanity has never been Kilo Ali's strong point. After serving a decade plus sentence for burning his own house down, the Atlanta bass pioneer and D4L progenitor is finally out of the pen and back in the studio, but his recent output has done little to suggest that he's of any more sound mind than when he went in. At least "Facebook Friends" seems to find a good musical outlet for his madness, with Kilo and an unidentified mystic rapper spitting about Confuscious and Facebook over circa-2000 Timbaland belly dance samples. And it kinda jams in spite, or because of its oddity. The video is appropriately trippy too, complete with ritualistic sacrifices, vampire teeth, strangely groomed beards, green screen Mortal Kombat reenactments and a floating clown head in can't-get-no-lower fidelity.
