Are we sure this is Kurtis Blow’s son and not, perhaps, DMX’s? This time last year he sounded like Drake Jr., but now that the horrorcore revival is Tumblr chic he's bleeding from his forehead. Dude is about two steps from legally changing his name to K▼RRRT and rapping over Salem. But putting the suspicious identity reboot aside, "Mario Kart" (vintage video games, also cool again) is a surprisingly well constructed effort. The rhymes are dynamic, the self-directed video is about as professional as a faux-snuff film could possibly be and the uncredited production is a crumbling futuristic slap in the vein of Young L. Kurtis' Champagne Dreams & Purple Clouds tape drops July 1st. (via Grandgood)
