Soulja Boy’s Bernard Arnault EP

July 18, 2011

Soulja Boy’s self-proclaimed "twaphouse" mixtape—err, EP—is named after Bernard Arnault, the CEO of LMVH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, though Soulja excitedly mis-shouts him out as Robert in the intro to "Texas." It's one of four songs exceeding six minutes, including a 20-minute freestyle, which by our count makes this 10-track mixtape the longest thing Soulja Boy has ever released. Excluding that indigestible freestyle and the dark "Zan Lean Remix," which still pales in comparison to the sunnier original, it's a totally satisfying listen. What's bizarre, though, is that at least four times Soulja Boy claims to have "the most songs in the rap game." Given his longstanding relationship with Lil B, who invented that claim and without question holds the under-21 title, that's a diss, right?
