Photos: Jay-Z, Swizz Beats and Q-Tip Celebrate Pharrell's Qream

Last night, power-males Jay-Z, Swizz Beats, Russell Simmons and Q-Tip came out to support Pharrell Williams at the launch of Qream with a Q, his new premium liqueur. But it was a ladies night at the NY Public Library, which was shrouded in delicious glossy white and gold sequins for the affair. Guests bumped elbows among patent fainting couches, fur throws, chandeliers and pink cupcake towers. The air smelled, unnaturally, of strawberry.

Before the bulk of the red carpet arrived, Williams made a toast to the mostly-ladies early crowd. He explained his desire to create something for the overlooked female market, and how he opted to create something indulgent and sweet, but worked to keep it smart. Qream is pearl and honeyed but also almost entirely dairy free, not too heavy or too-too sweet. We tried some straight-up sips, but loved it best paired with a kick of vodka and some coconut water. Check out some party-shots, below:
