Radiohead Did Not Occupy Wall Street

October 04, 2011

Remember how the internet was all a-flutter Friday with rumors of a free afternoon Radiohead show at the Occupy Wall Street site? Well, the show didn't happen, but the fake rumor did draw one of the largest crowds the Zuccotti Park protest has seen so far. Instead of Radiohead, new visitors saw self-organization at work and heard from members of the Transit Workers Union, who recently announced their support of the movement. The next day, hundreds of protesters were arrested during an occupation of the Brooklyn Bridge. We don't typically report hard news, but we did go down there to see what would happen if Radiohead showed up. This is what happened Friday afternoon when they didn't.
