Stream: DB Tha General, "Wrong Road"

Like Juvenile or Schoolly D before him, self-proclaimed King of Oakland DB Tha General is one of those rare rappers whose style seems to have formed mostly outside of the dominant rap lineage. Everything is loose and lo-fi. It's as if he was just dropped in a studio one day and forced to teach himself to rap and record from scratch. His natural voice recalls Boosie, but his flow is generally more flexible and harder to peg. "Wrong Road" teases his forthcoming I Shine, We All Shine LP by setting a double time flow of military precision to drumlines and ominous strings. The album drops in March next year.
