What I’m Thankful For: Pharrell Williams

November 22, 2011

Every year, Americans gather for Thanksgiving, the great, cozy pause before November's end. To celebrate its sweetness, we caught up with five of our favorite FADER family members and asked them what they’re giving thanks for this holiday. Today, Pharrell Williams gives thanks.

I’m thankful for my family. I’m thankful for time. I’m thankful for continued inspiration. I could’ve been somewhere else [with my life], and been someone else. I could have been in a very different circumstance. I’m very thankful. Time, you know, is given to you. You spend it as you get it. I’m happy to have it and I’m happy to be given some. 2011 was a good year because, you know, it was such great energy. A lot of my aspirations were realized. I’m thankful [for Qream], man. It’s a great opportunity. Diageo’s amazing. And of course, 2012 has a lot of crazy, crazy things, really good and incredible things that are on the way. [For Thanksgiving], I’m going to eat a lot of good, savory food. I like it all actually. I can’t cook, not a lick. If I had to cook it would be breakfast cereal and pop tarts. But I love soul food. I love all the good home cooked food from my family.
