London trio Get People would like their music to be unifying and escapist. In the past year they’ve supported both Metronomy and Crystal Fighters and combine the djembe, marimbas and dark beats to create the sonic equivalent of The Pet Shop Boys stranded on a tropical island with a sequencer and a synth. (See previous singles “Odyssey” and “Rain Tears” for evidence.) On “Macaw”, the first track from their as-yet untitled third EP out early next year, the band relocate to Mars for an exploration in dub-anchored, cosmic pop with some glacial, girly vocals.
