Meryl Streep Inspires Peter Jensen

January 04, 2012

We'll stop short of endorsing Meryl Streep's 1980s, brocade-and-pencil-skirt Dynasty look in her new movie about Margaret Thatcher, but thankfully Danish designer Peter Jensen is sourcing a different Streep as muse for his spring collection. There are about a billion to choose from, but her early looks in Kramer vs. Kramer and Woody Allen's Manhattan are banging, with stick-straight blond hair all the way down her back and sensible, 1970s intellectual, working girl outfits of trench coats and bow-tie blouses, and Jensen has used them as models for his smart, muted spring lookbook. After landing her very first cover of Vogue this January, we're psyched to see Streep getting this much style love. (via Racked)
