The other side of the "Money on the Floor" coin, "We Buy Gold" reunites 8Ball and MJG with Big K.R.I.T.’s vision of the retro Southern strip club anthem. One of the reasons this approach seems to work so well is that it simultaneously captures the spirit of peak-era Suave House records while sounding very little like it on a literal level. Instead, the emulation of the molasses-tempoed nighttime mystique is fairly abstract, in the mood rather than the instrumentation. In other words, K.R.I.T.'s production channels classics like MJG's "Middle of the Night (T-Mix)", but doesn't feel particularly derivative of it. "We Buy Gold" marks yet another milestone in K.R.I.T.'s marked improvement as a producer.
