Video: Bell Towers, “Scavengers”

February 08, 2012

For awhile this video for Melbourne-based Bell Towers’ "Scavengers" feels like it could be one of those Sesame Street interstitials that doesn't teach you about counting or the alphabet or colors, but instead teaches you about abstract ideas like art and creative movement—annnnd then a hand pulls a plant out of a pot of soil and what looks like a fake penis is attached to the bottom, so that whole "for kids" thing we just came up with goes right out the window. Nevertheless, "Scavengers" is great for what it is, which is a relatively simple dance track, bulked up by an insta-classic bassline and a really entertaining video. Bell Towers' 12-inch is out right now on Hole in the Sky.
