Video: Clark Airlines, “Sippin While Whippin”

When I was a teenager, my friends thought it would be funny to stand up through the sunroof while the car was moving and yell "Motosurf!," a reference to the 1993 Rob Schneider movie Surf Ninjas. In retrospect, this was embarrassing, but we also weren't musicians trying to attract national attention in the YouTube era. I don't endorse high-risk activities, like climbing on top of cars at a high speed, nor am I very enthusiastic about minute-long music video intro skits, both of which occur in the "Sippin While Whippin" video. I do, though, endorse Clark Airlines’ excellent music and his full-length mixtape, Between the Lines. Like many talents hustling their way from the bottom in the music industry these days, he's a multi-tasker—check out the video he directed for Chicago group BNRS' tough new track, "Drillinois."
