Interview: Teengirl Fantasy at the FADER FORT Presented by Converse

May 04, 2012

Somehow, amidst the madness of playing a really good set at The FADER Fort Presented by Converse and being busy with all kinds of music festival distractions, Nick Weiss, one half of Teengirl Fantasy, told us that he found time to go the gym and workout in Texas. This might seem kind of inconsequential, but it's really hard to do normal, routine things like that through the insanity of a million people trolling around in Austin, and so it's probably a pretty good clue into Teengirl's motivations. They're a band for people who want to move—we used to think for people who wanted to move on the dance floor, but now we get that they're perfect for all kinds of movements, janky leg raises on the elliptical or squat thrusts or whatever it is people do at Crunch Fitness. Or, as we most prefer, walking around the city very slowly listening to "Cheaters" on our iPhone. They've got a new album coming out this summer that we're sure will make us sweat and have fun in a million different ways, but until then, check out our interview with Weiss and bandmate Logan Takahashi.
