According to the Irish Film and Television Network, Andre Benjamin bka Andre 3000 is set to star in the Jimi Hendrix biopic, All is By My Side. There has long been a rumor that this film was slated to be made, but last year, the Experience Hendrix estate halted the project. The film that will now be made will chronicle the recording of Hendrix's debut album, Are You Experienced?. It is currently in pre-production and will beging shooting in three weeks in Wicklow and Dublin, Ireland. The film will be written and directed by John Ridley, whose most recently worked on the movie, Red Tails.
