Video: Light Asylum, “Heart of Dust”

May 23, 2012

If a lot of electronic music seems light as a feather, sailing through computer speakers on wings of emoticons, smiley faces and candy pink hair, then Light Asylum are a duo of dark Greek warriors surrounded by tweens smacking Doublemint gum. We don't prefer serious over light all the time, but we recognize that it's a gap a thousand megawatts wide and it really defines who Light Asylum are as a band. They told Dazed that the video for "Heart of Dust" was inspired by Nine Inch Nails' muddy, bleak Woodstock '94 performance, oil spills and Pompei. Damn. Truth be told, this shit is just gnarly. It looks like whatever is the primal opposite of The Garden of Eden.
