Detroit rapper FowL is a promising young talent whose rap style has an old soul. Last year's "Packed In Locked Out" had much of the earnest pathos of the best Meek Mill singles. His newest release, "Spark Up," is produced by Clockwork Muzik, a midwesterner who has worked with Chip Tha Ripper, Freddie Gibbs and Ray Cash. It's the lead single from FowL's upcoming album Tall Tale, and with its muscular guitar line and FowL's dextrous flow, it makes for an electric listen.
