Adding to their “Songs From Scratch” documentary series, the gang over at Yours Truly have paired two of hip-hop's preeminent DIY wonks—Danny Brown and Araabmuzik—to collaborate on a new song. It's instant chemistry in the studio, with Brown and Araabmuzik's new song "Molly Ringwald" produced in a hands-on way, quite literally: Araabmuzik assaults his MPC drum machine to assemble a dizzying intro fill while Brown frantically hunts and pecks his keyboard to compose lyrics on the fly. And as beats and vocals begin to coalesce seamlessly, you forget that the track was ever a product of improvisation.
