Interview: King L

A couple years back, King L, the upstart Chicago rapper formerly known as King Louie, was hit by a car. The impact broke his legs, bruised his lungs, and knocked out some of his front teeth, giving him a signature, chipped grin. Now, after signing a deal with Epic this spring, Louie's got a bright and brand new smile. On a recent visit to our office, he spoke to us about what motivates him, why he had to truncate his moniker and how it feels to be young, but relatively old, in Chicago's wild, "young and fun" drill scene.
