At Home With: Blood Orange

Last week we met Devonté Hynes bka Blood Orange in his Brooklyn apartment, where the affable and angelically white-dressed one-man band seemed to float his way past Peanuts ephemera, a piano and a "not so adult" drum machine. Not pictured: an impressive collection of secondhand books, including the biography of gay porn star Joey Stefano, Wonder Bread and Ecstasy, which he recommended in particular. Nowadays, Hynes is writing new Blood Orange material, planning an orchestral project, producing the next album by The Teenagers and waiting for the release of Solange Knowles' LP, to which he contributed writing and production.
