Soca superstar Machel Montano returned this week with the dance-floor obliterator, “Make It Shake.” The track has all the elements of a crossover club banger—a guest spot from Busta Rhymes channeling his inner Snoop Lion, an interstitial dubstep drop, and even direct exhortations to make the floor, roof and walls shake. Given his apparent propensity for destruction, you wonder if Montano ever had a background in demolitions before he got into music. Check out his cover story from The FADER #43 here.

Oh Please, let’s not act like Busta wasn’t on using Patwa way before this track and that lame Snoop Lion. Unlike Snoop Lion, Busta is actually Jamaican.
HD and Busta no longer sound fresh in my opinion. Maybe because I’m too jaded after listening to what the music industry has been putting out over the past several years. Most club-goers in Miami will rock to this because they’re drunk and star-struck but is this honestly a hot song? time will tell.
