The Things I Carry: Lil Durk

We always like to know what some of our favorite artists carry in their purses (and man-purses)—the essential items that they need for touring or subway rides, the Grammys or any other thing that they might be doing these days, which is why we’ve made it a regular column on the site.

Lil Durk, the 19-year-old rapper from Chicago who signed with Def Jam this spring, stopped by FADER offices while recording in New York last week, his long dreads replaced by a new-clean shaven look following a three-month jail sentence. A video interview is coming soon, but until then, here's a look at what was in his pockets. No wallet, just the barest, no-nonsense essentials: case-less phone, hotel key, Def Jam visitor's pass and a thumb drive carrying freshly laid-down tracks from his upcoming release.
