Download Lil Wayne’s Dedication 4 Mixtape

September 04, 2012

As promised, Lil Wayne delivered his fourth Dedication mixtape, the latest in his series of tapes with DJ Drama, kicked off in 2005. Wayne raps over hits by Future, Ca$h Out, Rick Ross and 2 Chainz. Nicki Minaj drops in for a verse over G.O.O.D. Music's "Mercy," where, doing a spot-on Lil Wayne voice, she raps surprisingly, I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney/ You lazy bitches are fucking up the economy. It's unlikely Minaj will actually vote red, though. She's boasted her proximity to Obama's White House, calling herself Nicki Lewinsky, and earlier this year, she tweeted at Obama, asking him to "Just give FREE health care to all." In August, it was rumored that Minaj would perform alongside Eminem at this week's Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. That appearance probably won't happen; for now, the only rapper confirmed to perform at the DNC is Common, who'll headline Musicians on Calls' Presidential Convention Charity Benefit. Wayne's politics, as expressed on Dedication 4, remain plainly indifferent: Fuck y'all/ I'd rather skate.
