Interview: Sasha Go Hard

Sasha Go Hard is friendly with a disarming, real-life beauty queen smile. In her great videos, she’s often surrounded by a gaggle of equally sweet and tough young women, but on a recent visit to FADER offices, she insisted they’re not her confidants. “I don’t have friends,” she said, “I run alone.” The former dance team captain talked with us about her solo push toward success: rapping into her phone’s recorder before ever stepping into a studio, working days at a Hyde Park bike shop and rethinking her lyrics and videos for young Chicago fans. For more, check out her recent Do You Know Who I Am? mixtape.
