Undercover’s Avant-garde Collection for Nike

September 27, 2012

It's pretty certifiable at this point in fashion that the new avant-garde is athletic, and no one has done more to contribute to that perception than Nike. They could just make simple black leggings and boring running shoes but, instead, have consistently produced some of the most innovative, progressive and downright weird products on the planet. For fall 2012, designed with longtime collaborator Jun Takahashi, Nike has themed their capsule collection, Autumn Monks, around the Togakushi Shrine in Nagano, Japan. They shot the campaign in the shrine's beautifully wooded region and included all kinds of futuristic details like sports-ready leggings with an attached ruffle skirt, Durable Water Repellent (DWR) fabric and laser-cut ventilation. Check out the entire collection here.
