After much teasing, Mykki Blanco's debut mixtape arrives with a title wordy enough to make Fiona Apple proud. Stylistically, Blanco is apt progeny for his outer-borough predecessors, like he was raised on a strict diet of Wu Wear and Timbs. His choice of beats is, however, much wonkier, and he raps over avant synth styles of all kinds—from Sinden and Matrixmann's for "HazeBoogie" to prog masters Gatekeeper's for "Squanto." He may be at his best, though, when paired with Brenmar, who gets weird, but keeps slightly more straight forward.
